Our South Africa team is currently looking for an experienced Senior Bulk Water Engineer with a focus on the design of pipelines and associated infrastructure.

• You will work on a broad range of water focused infrastructure projects across Africa and globally where your experience will be instrumental in unlocking the true value of water. You will be involved at all stages of the project cycle from strategic definition, conceptual design, detailed design and through implementation, including technical advisory and due diligence.
• The role involves inter-office working and assisting with knowledge transfer between Arup colleagues across the continent.  You will play a part in the ever-increasing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase our efficiency through automation and to offer new services to our clients through our integrated digital approach to design.

Is this role right for you?

• A relevant undergraduate degree, (master’s will be advantageous); and Professional registration with ECSA, or other appropriate institution.
• Essential experience includes bulk water transfer schemes (particularly pipelines and pumpstations).
• Beneficial water experience includes intake works, treatment facilities, reservoirs, non-revenue water, distribution systems, and other hydraulic structures.
• Beneficial wastewater experience includes sewer network design and overview of treatment options.
• Autodesk suite of software including Civil 3D, Plant 3D would be advantageous.
• Suitable software experience in programmes such as EPANET, Civil Designer, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater or similar. Experience in HAMMER would be advantageous. Application of BIM.
