Description
- We are looking for a proactive, analytical, and detail oriented Key Account Support Specialist to support our national and provincial strategic accounts within our Insurance and Funeral Services business.

YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and review of strategic customer account plans.
- Supporting the national key account management team in delivering exceptional client service.
- Monitoring source penetration and account performance metrics.
- Managing the operational and administrative flow within the department.
- Driving effective internal collaboration and ensuring smooth service delivery for AVBOB’s key accounts.
- Assisting in planning, executing, and reviewing strategic customer account plans in alignment with overall business development strategies.
- Providing analytical insights into customer needs and expectations.
- Tracking sales growth, account penetration, and report on market share gains.
- Developing and maintain strong professional relationships with national and provincial account stakeholders.
- Supporting the implementation of a structured Customer Relationship Management (CRM) plan to drive customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Resolve account-related queries and serve as a communication link between Key Account Managers and internal teams.
- Collaborating on the planning and execution of marketing events in conjunction with Key Account Managers.
- Ensuring availability of promotional materials, coordinate logistics for “Gig rigs” and information buses.
- Conducting post-event reviews to measure effectiveness and ROI.
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and resources for strategic accounts and report outcomes to the Manager.
- Ensure compliance with AVBOB’s governance framework and internal policies.
- Compile and analyze business reports for management review, including monthly performance reports and EXCO inputs.
- Track premium flows, client retention efforts, and campaign effectiveness across key accounts.
- Support operational planning with actionable data driven recommendations.
- Coordinate internal stakeholder communication to ensure consistent and seamless client service delivery.
- Support ad-hoc initiatives, special projects, and provide hands-on operational assistance where needed.
- Represent the Manager: Business Development when required, providing feedback and reporting to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3 year tertiary qualification in Marketing & Sales, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development, project management, or key account management.
- Experience in financial services will be a distinct advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) at an advanced level.
- Familiarity with CRM software, project management tools, and emerging AI technologies.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional time management, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally as required.
