Job Advert Summary

  • A vacancy exists for a Depot Manager to be based at our Bapotrans Depot in the North West.
  • The position requires the individual to manage the depot and maintain relations with all role-players in such a manner that strategic, profit and quality targets achieved.
  • The Depot Manager is required to lead the Bus Depot team to ensure operational efficiency and that service delivery targets are achieved.
  • He/she reviews operational plans, oversees the implementation of Bus Depot operational procedures and activities, including manpower deployment, contingency management and facilities.
  • The Depot Manager ensures the adherence to regulatory and safety requirements at the bus depot.
  • As a leader, he/she is accountable for the work performance and development of the bus depot team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in tertiary transport management,
  • The individual must have 4 to 6 years’ experience at a senior level,
  • Analytical and strong leadership skills,
  • Able to provide clear instructions and work under pressure,
  • Implement improvements initiatives to enhance operations,

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and amongst others should possess the following skills:

  • Manage and motivate staff by utilizing superior leadership skills.
  • Manage commercial compliance and output,
  • Manage business strategy and processes,
  • Compile/manage operational budget in conjunction with the FM,
  • Ensure the highest level of service delivery is provided to customers,
  • Manage and control insurance and accident processes,
  • Profitably manage and control the operations,
  • Ability to think laterally to achieve business objectives,
  • Manage and report on performance in respect of customer service, vehicle utilization, revenue, costs, changes in business trends, safety and health, human resources and industrial relations and asset management.
