Job Description

  • Join Lactalis at our East London DC in the Eastern Cape and take on the challenging role as a Cross Dock Coordinator.
  • The main responsibilities will include (however not limited to) site maintenance and upkeep with regards to operations and to customers and suppliers.
  • Ensuring that all stock ordering, packaging, and management is done as per policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Diploma in Warehouse/Distribution/Supply Chain Management
  • Experience within the FMCG environment.
  • R638 Certification
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of integrated warehouse optimisation management systems, and working knowledge of MSOffice (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • BPCS (advantageous)
  • Working knowledge of an ERP System.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Internal and external service orientated individual.
  • Willingness to embrace and drive positive change in the organisation.
  • Willingness to work long hours producing exceptional results while working under pressure.
  • Good decision-making skills with strong leadership skills.
  • Assertive, disciplined individual with strong communication (written and verbal) skills who can communicate within the matrix of different levels of all stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of Budget management and implementation

Duties & Responsibilities

  • XDOC oversight (stock, warehouse and people management)
  • Fleet management (fleet upkeep and compliance to the NRTA)
  • Drivers and Van Assistants management (Driver meetings, communication, training and general driver behaviour)
  • DRM Monitoring (Loads expediting and route debriefing)
  • Distribution KPI’s (daily load plan execution)
  • Time & attendance (capture and approve hours on Kronos)
  • Customer Service Excellence (Attend to customer queries and enhance communication with customers for better productivity)
  • Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team through an optimised operational structure, agreed job descriptions and established measures of success
  • On a daily basis analyse operational execution results, understand the reason for deviations and action corrective measures in a collaborative manner
  • Continuously develop and drive strategies in collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve all required performance indicators
  • Ensure adherence to OHS ACT, BCEA legislations and use the company’s disciplinary guidelines as a medium to drive improved results
  • Ensure that the company is professionally represented by its ambassadors (warehouse staff relevance) through training, dress code rules and other relevant interventions
  • Nurture a mature and motivated staff complement through continuous training and engagement forums, interacting with staff at all organisational levels
  • Build a collaborative relationship with the regional and national sales teams to ensure the relationship drive the company’s customer service objectives with a mature ability in finding the balance between customer service and a highly cost and efficiency driven environment
  • Build and maintain sustainable relationships with all customers to ensure warehouse efficiency measures and cost achievement results are at optimal levels
  • Manage and control cost through analysing daily, weekly and monthly performance measurements and management report
