Responsibilities, in both print products and on digital platforms, include:
- The effective and complete writing and curation of promotional, advertising and marketing material, as well as special projects.
- Conceptualisation and execution of promotional, advertising and marketing projects that will benefit branding, newspaper sales, and digital subscriber recruitment.
- Liaising with clients and marketers in a promotional, advertising and marketing environment.
- Quality client service to ensure a quality product.
- The writing of factually correct and creative promotional and advertising copy and newsworthy focus articles in Afrikaans.
- The ability to adhere to strict deadlines without compromising on quality.
- The suitable candidate must be willing to work effectively under pressure and keep to strict deadlines.
- This position sometimes requires the candidate to work irregular hours and over weekends, as well as some travel.
- A valid driver’s licence, relevant tertiary journalism qualification and at least five years’ experience are all requirements for this position.
- The person must also be fluent in Afrikaans and English and be able to write in both languages.
- Experience working on digital publishing platforms is essential.
