Job Description
- The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assisting in managing of the Farleigh East Working for Water Project, in the Wilderness sections of the Garden Route National Park.
- The position is on a fixed term contract up to 31 March 2027. Remuneration on C2 Paterson salary scale, Farleigh East on R 24 755.46, staying outside the park.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nature Conservation/Forestry or Environmental Management.
- A minimum of 1 year Project Management experience.
- Code 8 driver’s license is essential.
- Computer literacy in MS office packages.
- 2 Years’ Experience in invasive alien plant clearing is essential.
- 2 Years’ Experience in health and safety management and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with strategic and operational planning of the project.
- Coordination and mentoring of EPWP contractors.
- Ensure the management of quality, production and monitoring of task-based operations linked to the project.
- Ensure compliance to program standards/norms and Health and Safety requirements.
- Assist with financial management of the project.
- Ensure database information for the project is maintained and updated.
- Assist with administrative management.
- Asset, stock and stores management.
- Assist and coordinate training and social interventions
- Assist with mapping and data recording for the project linked to activities
- Report on project progress
