Job Description

  • Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Sales department. We are looking for talented individual with relevant skills and experience for an Account Developer Metro role, which is based at Embalenhle area. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sales Team Lead.
  • Key Purpose To develop, implement and maintain effective account plans thereby managing the profitable sales of CCBSA products, and the development and maintenance of new business relationships and opportunities so that customer excellence, brand loyalty and profitable volume growth are achieved.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achievement of Daily, Weekly and Monthly Sales Targets: Accurately understand and track targets per route and period as aligned with the supervisor. Provide regular updates on target performance and key focus areas while on route. Demonstrate a proactive approach to reaching sales goals.
  • Optimised Order Generation: Execute face-to-face order-taking at designated outlets according to service guidelines. Accurately record customer orders and confirm delivery timelines, product details, and costs. Use digital tools and systems effectively to upload and manage orders.
  • Flawless Daily Execution and Outlet Coverage: Plan and prepare for daily calls in line with the planned call objectives. Execute all scheduled calls for the day, covering both direct and indirect customers. Uphold in-outlet execution to merchandising and quality standards.
  • Maintenance of Company Assets and Equipment: Ensure all assigned equipment is well maintained and in working condition. Report and address any malfunctions promptly to avoid trade disruption.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Represent the company positively in all customer interactions. Adhere to the CCBSA Code of Conduct in dealing with customers, consumers, suppliers, and competitors. Proactively resolve issues and provide after-sales support as needed.
  • Data and Market Information Management: Participate in and accurately conduct market surveys when required. Report back valuable insights to inform route planning, execution, and promotions.
  • Lead Generation and Outlet Density Management: Identify and report potential new business opportunities in allocated territory. Provide qualified leads to the New Business Development Manager. Support in growing outlet penetration and effective territory coverage.
  • Promotional Execution and In-Trade Compliance: Implement promotional activities and price execution per channel strategy. Ensure RED (Right Execution Daily) standards are followed in all outlets.
  • Address and rectify execution gaps with urgency.

Skills, Experience & Education
Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
  • Preferred: Post-matric qualification in Sales/Marketing or related field (advantageous)

Experience

  • 1–2 years in FMCG sales, merchandising, or related customer-facing role.
  • Prior exposure to in-trade execution, order-taking, and customer servicing.
