- Hire Resolve’s client is currently seeking a Chief Safety Officer to join their mining operation based in Mpumalanga. As the Chief Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees and promoting a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance in all matters related to safety and health.
- Oversee safety training programs and ensure employees are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents and accidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate them into the organization’s safety programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- National Diploma/Degree in Safety Management
- SAMTRAC/COMSOC 1 & 2
- 5 years’ experience within the mining industry with minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience
- ISO 9001/ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001
- Valid Driver’s License
