Responsibilities:

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead continuous improvement projects using Epiroc A3 problem solving format.
  • Be a driver and promoter of lean philosophy and methods
  • Apply appropriate change management processes to ensure buy-in and smooth transition in the implementation of CI
  • Develop a continuous improvement culture in the production site.

Guiding and coaching all levels in the effective utilization of the associated tools for each Best Practice through active involvement and presence in the relevant department, including:

  • Daily Gemba walks to review visual boards, machine measures, actions plan, shift documentation, 5S,
  • Attending project improvement meetings, operations meetings, shift handovers and Pulse meetings,
  • Effectively participate in 5Why and RCA sessions.
  • Identifying  opportunities for improvement in all of the above
  • Attending training sessions
  • Implement and monitor indicators to measure KPIs
  • Track continuous improvement metrics such as safety, cost savings, time savings, efficiency gains, etc. and report on a routine basis.
  • In collaboration with teams, create standard communication channels to support a structure of autonomous teams.
  • Analysis of the problems in plant in collaboration with the Opex change agents, operators and supervisors.
  • Develop and facilitate learning exercises, experiments and workshops
  • Train people in the industrial area through facilitating tools and methodologies related to continuous improvement.
  • Improve operational performance in its dimensions: safety, quality, delivery and cost by improving efficiency, reducing lead time, improving productivity, and creating efficient processes of material and information flows.
  • Take a process approach to CI with proven lean methodology’s (such as DMAIC, ISO, Total Quality Management, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA, etc.)
  • Develop, maintain and audit SOPs and Ways of Working to be more efficient and effective
  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the CI plan
  • Document the plan and have the plan agreed by all HOD’s and the Leadership team.
  • Ensure that local project /strategy aligns with Corporate long-term goals and Epiroc Way
  • Report and document CI, provide regular feedback to the relevant forums (e.g. SC and quarterly review meeting, and other relevant communication channels)
  • Work with the quality department to ensure First Pass Yield (FPY) is achieved and failures are reduced. develop, maintain and audit SOPs and Ways of Working to be more efficient and effective

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred; extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen experience is highly preferred
  • High level of computer proficiency, experience working in MS office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams
  • Highly developed collaboration skills, ability to work within a team and independently
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Maintain courteous and professional demeanor and communication with internal and external customers at all times
