Key responsibilities of this role include:
- A recognised degree and/or a 4-year professional teaching qualification with at least 8 years’ teaching experience
- A passion and vision for English
- A sound and progressive understanding of international trends and changes in girls’ education and 21st century learning
- Experience in leading change, transformation and diversity initiatives within the English curriculum
- The desire to be part of a dynamic team
- Superior planning, organisational and reporting skills
- Experience teaching English at the FET level, preferably up to Grade 12 level
- Teaching at an IEB school and NSC marking experience will be advantageous
- Experience and expertise in guiding students to reach their true potential
- Create classroom communities where all members of the class are valued, and contribute to the creation of knowledge
- Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice
- Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) and technology skills
- Noteworthy time management and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in creating varied and innovative learning programmes and assessment
- Interest in cross-curricular and interdisciplinary work
- A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school, including extramural activities
- Proof of registration with SACE
- Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
