PURPOSE
- This position exists to assist the Process Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the plant against set objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
- Carry and fulfil responsibilities of a MHSA Section 2.9.2 legal appointment
- Lead team to complying with company SHE strategy and zero harm frame-work
- Ensure team’s understanding of company safety policies, standards and procedures
- Identify areas of improvement in line with company strategy
- Identify SHE training requirements of reports
- Be part of Incident/ Accident investigation teams
- Uphold all applicable minimum legal requirements.
Operations
- Achieve production and quality targets
- Manage performance of production shifts
- Form part of maintenance planning and execution.
- Supervision and sign off maintenance tasks
- Ensure plant operates within cost budget
- Maintain high standards of operational excellence
Identify process optimization needs
- Control all process consumable consumptions within company standards
People and System Management
- Drive teams’ compliance to company strategy
Effectively delegate tasks
- Manage time and attendance, and other systems
- Identify and develop talent within areas of responsibility
- Scheduling and planning of work force plan
Administration
- Completes safety, production, maintenance, personnel, and quality control records and reports.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Metallurgical, Chemical Engineering or other related Diploma/ Degree.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years experience in coal processing plants
- A minimum 3 years proven supervisory experience.
