Content Planning & Coordination
- Develop and manage daily/weekly content plans in collaboration with editorial teams.
- Align news coverage with organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate with archives to secure overlays and appropriate visuals for booked guests.
- Maintain a news calendar, tracking major events, breaking news potential, and emerging trends.
- Complete the check list prior to each show
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Adjust content plans proactively in response to breaking news or scheduling conflicts.
Guest Booking & Talent Coordination
- Research, identify, and book relevant guests for interviews, discussions, and panels.
- Build and maintain a strong network of industry experts, analysts, and commentators.
- Request quality images from guest and overlay if applicable
- Handle logistics, including travel arrangements and technical setup for guest appearances.
- Ensure guests are briefed, prepared, and available on time for live segments.
- Manage unexpected guest cancellations with rapid, effective solutions.
- Ensure guest appearances and interviews fit within live broadcast constraints.
- React swiftly to last-minute cancellations by securing alternative guests.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with reporters, anchors, producers, and technical teams to coordinate execution.
- Provide clear and timely updates on guest availability and schedule changes.
- Conduct post-show debriefs to refine and improve future guest coordination and planning.
- Troubleshoot logistical challenges while maintaining high broadcast quality.
Audience Engagement & Analytics
- Analyze audience feedback and ratings to refine guest booking strategies.
- Collaborate with digital and social media teams to promote guest appearances.
- Leverage data insights to enhance content relevance and viewer engagement.
Team Development
- Stay abreast of role and industry developments and ensure that skills and experience remain updated.
- Keep team skills and knowledge current, particularly in journalism and media trends.
- Proactively manage performance, addressing concerns with clear, timely actions.
- Identify and implement training programs to develop team capabilities, skills and experience.
Personal Development
- Engage in continuous learning, complete development plans, and stay informed on current events.
- Completing Individual Development Plan.
- Attending a minimum of 2 learning and development courses bi-annually.
- Participating in peer and team learning initiatives.

Qualifications
- National Diploma in Journalism
Experience
- 8 years in Broadcast Journalism
- Drivers Licences is essential
