Vaal Central Water supplies water to a wide array of regions across South Africa, utilizing various sources and infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that water and boreholes quality meet the SANS 241:2015 requirements.
- Perform laboratory tests at required intervals and from required sampling points.
- Inform Senior Process Controller, Regional Manager and Scientific Services of emergency situations including quality failures.
- Manage/ optimize water quality analysis and coordinate independent analysis reports.
- Ensure proper quality management for the region.
- Maintain and adhere to integrated environmental management policy for regional activities.
- Provide regular maintenance of laboratory equipment and units and regular cleaning of the laboratory.
- Submit monthly reports to the Senior Process Controller and Scientific Services.
- Budget for lab equipment and chemicals.
- Maintain discipline and attend to administrative function for leave, overtime and quarterly reviews for all subordinates.
- Observe all Health and Safety protocols and procedures.
- All assignments as directed from time to time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BSc/ B. Tech Chemistry or Microbiology.
- Tech Quality would be an added advantage.
- 2-year practical experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
- Computer literacy.
- Valid driver’s license.
