Mechanical Design Engineer

  • One of our clients, a leading manufacturer in Springs, Gauteng, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team.
  • This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on turning ideas into robust, high-quality designs.
  • The ideal candidate will bring a strong passion for innovation and a successful track record in mechanical design solutions within a manufacturing environment.
  • The successful candidate need to come with at least 3 years’ experience in Mechanical designing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree advantageous).
  • 3 to 5 years of solid experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD modelling, with proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Hands-on experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Vehicle and valid Driver’s License.
  • Familiarity with relevant mechanical design regulations and compliance standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Transform client requirements and project objectives into innovative, functional product designs, ensuring design feasibility and performance.
  • Create detailed and precise 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
  • Manage the prototyping phase by collaborating with production and R&D teams to develop functional prototypes, ensuring thorough testing and refinement.
  • Conduct detailed design validation through simulations, FEA, and real-world testing to guarantee product reliability and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Partner with teams in manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless transition from design to production, addressing any design-related challenges.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements and emerging technologies, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and project progress updates, ensuring traceability and clear communication.
  • Enforce strict quality control processes throughout the design phase, ensuring all engineering designs meet internal and external compliance standards.
